What the Regulation says (Article 10(7))
| Point | Practical note |
|---|---|
| Digital format allowed | Instructions may be provided digitally and must clearly describe the product model they belong to. |
| Mark how to access them | Mark the machine, or its packaging or an accompanying document, with how to reach the digital instructions. |
| Printable and downloadable | Present them in a format the user can print and download. |
| Paper on request | At the user's request at the time of purchase, supply the instructions on paper free of charge within one month. Set up a process for this before you rely on digital delivery. |
| Non-professional users | If the machine is intended for non-professional users, or could foreseeably be used by them, the safety information essential for putting it into service and using it safely must be on paper. |
| Digital declaration of conformity | Digital EU declarations of conformity must stay accessible online for the expected lifetime of the machinery and at least 10 years. |
